Weapons depend on your build (caster or melee) in the example you gave (for melee) sword has more base damage, but dagger has a faster attack speed. Defence doesn't really matter in d2 until you get quite high levelled or PvP duelling, also heavy armour has a speed and stamina drain penalty. Quilted is the only one you'll really notice an issue with regards to durability, leather and hard leather wear about the same as everything else, it's really not a big deal anyway. there are a number of runewords that are just not recommended to make ever, they're either terrible stats or are not cost effective for the runes it takes to make them and ones that are easier to make just far outclass them you use this site right? also grats on beating normal without runewords lolĮdit: like better or worse for runewords is just how useful they are, what stats they have on them, stealth is a really great runeword compared to others that are low lvl req ones because of the stats it gives, smoke is another good one. I'm a little confused by your original post, so you can make any runeword no matter the difficulty but a character in normal is not going to have the runes or the ideal base items to make them, runewords don't improve or are worse depending on the difficulty you're in, you'll get access to exceptional and elite item bases as you work up to hell difficulty and access to more runes that monsters can drop Matters if you're making use of that physical damage with your build but if you're hammerdin or casting spells to deal damage then that damage on the weapon doesn't matter cause it'll be your ability dealing the damage, well I guess sometimes the physical damage from the weapon is added onto the ability damage but it usually is a small amount compared to the ability Same goes for weapons go for sword vs dagger (for higher base dmg)?
